The Women of Southgate

The women of Southgate are a group of women who allow Jesus to flow through them in unique ways. They share His gifts, talents, and love freely.  I love the way each one of them is ‘wearing’ Him differently.  There is love, joy, faith and support as we come together.  We are of all ages and backgrounds. In the coming months several different opportunities will be offered to give the ladies choices as how they desire to study, share, minister, serve and enjoy each other.  There will be dinners for us to chat and share our daily walk with Jesus and our deeper testimonies, small group studies allowing for ministry and growth, and a monthly study similar to last year. 

Last year we studied the Word from the perspective of a woman’s point of view.  We worked through things that women ‘trip’ over or areas we have been hurt; subjects such as jealousy, relationships, loneliness and authority to name a few.  Our women love to worship and we enjoyed the talents of our worship leaders.   This is a small group discussions were lead by women that have known victory in many areas of ‘heartache’ unique to women. They did a superb job keeping us on topic and seeing we all got the ministry we needed. Loving prayer ministered throughout these times; and love flowed freely for each other.  We will continue with similar subjects this Fall under the banner of “Women Living in God’s Kingdom”!!

This year we are adding short term weekly study groups.  One study group will meet days and the other at night.   This is a small group for study and ministry in homes.  These will give us the time to study in depth and also give and receive ministry and sharpen our gifts.  We will spend 6 weeks on each subject. 

The first event on the calendar is a dinner to share all of the opportunities that are coming up for the women of Southgate.  This Fall is our annual retreat.  We are delighted to bring you Marilyn Hume a woman in which God has placed His treasures and gifts in a way to touch hearts and set them not only free, but into their God given role in His Kingdom.  She has been given original ways to pour Him and His Word into our hearts.  The old song, “Just a Spoon Full of Sugar” might apply to her techniques!!!
